This Detroit Lake home offers a wonderful view of the lake from almost every room in the house. It has one deck off the upper level & 2 decks on the lower level. There is access to the lake, but the steps are quite steep....not for everyone. The main (upper) floor has a wood burning stove in the living room and TV with Blu-Ray player. The updated kitchen and dining room overlook the lake. The kitchen has all the amenities you would need. There are two bedrooms on the main floor; master with a queen sized log bed and the 2nd has a full size log bed, bedding provided. There is a Traeger BBQ on the deck for your use, to cook your favorite meal. There are floor to ceiling windows on most of the main floor to enjoy the amazing view of the lake, or view of the river when the lake is drained. Downstairs (in the daylight basement) is the 3rd bedroom with a queen bed and full size log futon. There is an unfinished larger room, it has another full size futon, ping pong table & game table. The house is at the end of a dead end street with plenty of room for parking. There is an outlet for an RV on the side of the garage. The front yard has some space where you could enjoy playing your lawn games. On the lake side, there is a fire pit that you can use to roast marshmallows, etc. and enjoy the view This home's view is wonderful. We think its the best at the lake, because no matter what time of year, you have an amazing view of the water, whether it be the lake in the summer or the river in the winter(please remember that Detroit Lake is a seasonal lake). It is not the easiest access down to the water, but there are other places to access the water, for the less active. You can anchor your boat or wave runner below the house for a short stay, or the marina has slips for rent, which is about a 5 minute walk. We do ask for a 3 night minimum for holidays. The Den is an 825 sq. ft. A Frame Cabin that sleeps 7 comfortably. Within walking distance to the Lake and Detroit Proper. Room to park recreational vehicle on trailer (Boat, Snow Mobile, 4x4, etc.). Hoodoo recreational area within a 30 minute drive. Shorter distance to travel to use your 4x4 in the snow or mud, whichever season you prefer. The property allows for tent camping if the kids desire to sleep outdoors while parents sleep indoor. Large Deck for entertaining. Coffee Maker, Microwave, Toaster and Blender included. Includes one private bedroom with seperate television, a loft that sleeps 3 comfortably. The couch in the front room opens up into a Queen Bed. Full Kitchen and Bath. The Den is located in the City Limits of Detroit and is located in a quiet neighborhood. This is a great place to come back to after a long day of recreating. It is also a great place to just relax and enjoy time away from the big city. Because we are located in a neighborhood we do not allow disruptions to the neighbors. Quiet time is 10 pm. Our guests are welcome and encouraged to build a fire, roast marshmallows and make memories with family and friends while respecting the quiet night air; at the same time respecting the neighbors by keeping voices down and music off after 10 pm. If you are looking for a location to be extra loud, this is not the place for you. If you are looking for a place for your kids to not respect rules, this is not a place for you.

Located in the small little town of Detroit, Oregon just above Detroit Lake our cabin boasts the smell of fresh cut pine and tree top views. When hanging out on the back deck it has a feeling of being in the top of the trees. During the summer months you can walk to the lake in as little as 15 minutes and during the winter months when the lake is not in there are plenty of winter activities to enjoy. The winter months are cozy in our sweet cabin, less than 750 sf but watching the storms pass through is still beautiful and peaceful. But, our cabin is NOT PRIVATE! It is not out deep in the woods away from civilization! We are surrounded by lots of trees though! It is located on a neighboring street just above Hwy 22. At certain parts of our property you will see other homes/vacationers and the street can be busy because of the neighbors and other vacation homes located on this street. In the winter, it is very quiet but in the summer it can be busy, lots of hustle to get to the lake in addition families and friends hang out at campfires (if not banned) having fun. If you are looking for solitude and quiet, you can get that while in the cabin but you may very well still hear the neighbors. Sometimes I catch a guitar tune being played and I think that is very pleasant. You can see the downtown area from the back of our cabin but from downtown our cabin is not visible. There is Hwy 22 and if road noise is an issue this cabin is not for you. The road noise does let up around 11:00 pm and if you are light sleeper you might hear it begin again around 6:00 am. So please consider carefully. We only bring this matter up so that if you have an expectation for a "quiet, out of the city experience" you will experience "small town activities" especially in the summer months. We do NOT want you to be disappointed. We are addressing critical reviews with these comments. That being said, it is very comfortable, all amenities are provided for you and we have taken great care to insure that you feel "at home" and comfortable during your stay. It is a breath of fresh air when you arrive and hopefully you will find it perfect for your stay. Our lovely hot tub is well placed but again our cabin is NOT private. In the evenings nobody would know you are in a hot tub but if taking a dip during the day there might be a passer by walking who would maybe catch a glimpse of your head but most likely you are not seen while in the hot tub. We placed it into a side of a hill, partially covered for weather and so we believe it is well placed and visually a nice break to look up into tree tops and mountain sides. We are located off of Forest St which does come off Hwy 22. We are a street with neighbors. In the summer travel months this street gets busy but in the winter it is very quiet except for the rain storms beating on the metal roof. Very fun to be there in the winter watching the snow fall when these storms come through. Our cabin nestled into a side of a hill is visible from the street but once inside you are transported to a cozy pine knotted and well furnished home away from home. When you arrive there is a walkway that is a bit like cobble stone and it leads you to the front porch area where our front door is located. We have placed an outside campfire setting nestled between several tall trees. When campfires are not banned we have lots of fun hanging out here with the campfire. We also cook over the fire pit. We have wood there always drying for the season. We ask you bring wood but if you run out there may be wood available for you to use. Close to great activities! This area is a hiking haven. Just minutes to the Detroit Lake or Breitenbush River. The snow is usually at the cabin or less than 45 minutes away for snow skiing at Hoo Doo Ski Bowl. Snow parks are near or two hours to Bachelor Ski Resort. Breitenbush Hot Springs is about 20 minutes away for a day of food, fun and hot tubbing in an old growth forest. We accommodate 2-4 people with one room inside loft area of cabin with queen size bed and a second room below the deck and ONLY accessible using the stairs off the back deck. The downstairs area HAS A SEPARATE ENTRANCE. This is also where the washer and dryer are located. So if stairs are an issue this cabin is not for you. The inside room is also only accessible by stairs and again if mobility is limited I do not recommend our cabin. I also recommend strong consideration if you have small children as the downstairs room does not have access from inside the main cabin. Using the back deck, going down the stairs off of deck is the only way to access the second room. Enjoy the cozy gas stove, surround sound TV (no cable) or venture out onto the large deck with forested view of the mountains and the small town of Detroit or just stay at the cabin and enjoy the hot tub nestled in the woods surrounding our cabin. Kitchen is well stocked with pans, utensils, glasses etc. There is usually plenty of condiments available in the fridge but if not there are 3 small grocery stores located in town. I recommend not relying on the stores for big food purchases but they are there for the emergency purchase. One last note: Our goal is NOT to charge a cleaning fee so we ask our guests to leave the cabin as they found it, clean and ready for the next people to start their getaway just like you did. We ask our guests to wash their towels, remake the bed (do not have to wash sheets or blankets, just remake with clean linens provided for you) and to do general cleaning so that we don't have to charge you for cleaning after your stay. Your $150 Security Deposit is 100% refundable as long as we do NOT have to do ANY cleaning after your stay. This is an original 1941 mill owner's home, recently renovated and stocked with antiques. It has three bedrooms upstairs, and a large room downstairs we've equipped with a unique triple bunk bed for kids. It's really too large to be called a cabin at about 2,600 sq. feet. We prefer family rentals of up to six but no more than eight people at a time. There is a formal sitting room with a fireplace, dining room, kitchen, and sunroom in the back with a card table, futon and television. There is no phone, WiFi, or cable service at the house. A signal is sometimes available at the riverfront or reliably 1/4 mile away at Hwy 22. The home is 3 miles upstream from Detroit Lake, and at the end of the road on a large 3 acre riverside lot. There is nobody immediately upstream or across the river, affording great solitude. The Santiam River is a perfect kayaking and fishing base. Many hunters also use the area. (I don't hunt) Rainbow trout are easily catchable by fly or spin casting in the backyard during the summer months. I keep my riverbank mostly clear of trees and there are several jetties that make very good, private fly fishing locations. Detroit Lake has two marinas and a variety of fish species including trout, salmon, Kokanee, a few steelhead, and catfish. Waterskiing and swimming is also popular in the clear, warmer lake water. There is a convenient public boat launch at Hoover Park just a couple miles away. Mongold Park offers good swimming access. If you like heath spas, Breitenbush Hot Springs is a few miles away and offers scheduled massages, classes, and natural hot springs. It's been there since the 1920s in one form or another and you'll find a large lodge where refreshments may be served. Note that this is a popular nudist friendly establishment. The main attraction is the wilderness. There are many, many lakes and hiking trails in the vicinity. Marion Lake is the largest hike-in lake in the state. Our favorite fishing lake is Daly Lake about 30 minutes away, and there is a restaurant in that direction called Marion Forks that offers scenic riverside dining. If you continue on to Sisters there are many shopping and dining options available in this quaint western-themed small town. Clear Lake (20 minutes) is interesting with flooded old growth trees standing on the bottom. A small lodge rents boats and serves meals. The McKenzie river is also in that area and has over 20 miles of trails. Another really great hike is along the Metolious River, if you're heading to Sisters for dinner. I just don't know where to begin in describing the options! If you like the outdoors, and are interested in a quiet, eclectic home with great fishing on the premises, our place makes a wonderful base off the beaten path. An ultra quiet dishwasher will handle the mess while everyone enjoys the activities on the first floor. The large island, with 4 bar stool chairs, create a casual eating place if desired. The great room contains a 12-person dining room table made from polished classic barnwood with matching benches, giving a great feel of country living. Next to it is a small kid-sized table with an inlaid chess/checker board and four chairs. There are additional tables/chairs in a nearby closet for even larger groups. The room continues to a large sectional couch, recliner, area rug and some chairs and stools. The entire side of the house facing the river has large windows and benches with storage and cushions to allow river viewing while relaxing, and plenty of seating. A gas fireplace completes the cozy room. Outside in the back is a concrete patio with quite a bit of seating, and was recently expanded to wrap around to form another river viewing area on the side of the house as well. If interested, pull the full size BBQ out from the garage and connect it to the propane outlet built into the house for grilling up a quick bite or slow roasting steaks. Feel free to grab the rafts, paddles and life vests out of the garage for a trip down the river (standard run to a nearby state park takes 90-120 minutes and runs through about 6 rapids, most Class 2 and one Class 3). Or perhaps fishing is your way of relaxing -- grab the poles and tackle box from the garage and see if you can land a steelhead or rainbow trout. Any visitor will be drawn to the river, with its relaxing hum and cheerful water swirls. It is shallow enough along the bank to allow easy swimming and wading for younger kids but wide enough to allow the rafters and kayakers to slide by with no more disturbance than a wave from the bank. Grab a chair and rest your feet in the cool water, perhaps skip some rocks or just relax and watch the water. A rope swing on an apple tree and the nearby fire pit (with firewood cut close by) round out the outdoor items. See if the kids can find the secret fairy door hidden somewhere along the base of the house... Mill City is a quiet town in the foothills of the Cascades and near multiple hikes, parks, and recreational opportunities. Many choices and some legendary pizza distinguish this hidden gem of a community. This house was built on property owned by our grandfather, who loved the river and passed that down to us. Unfortunately our cabin is one of the many homes that have fallen victim to the Beachie Creek fire that swept through our area early Tuesday September 8th. We are happy to report that everyone is okay. We will rebuild! See you in 2022. The River Cottage has private access to the river. While the area includes nearby homes, the location of the River Cottage is relatively private with limited traffic as Taylor Park Rd. ends just a few miles down from the Cottage. The River Cottage is fairly easy to find with most guests using GPS without issue. Here are directions for guests who do not have, or use GPS. The River Cottage is just past the small community of Mehama, which is 25 miles East of Salem, Oregon. Take Hwy 22 East. At Mehama there is a blinking yellow light where people can turn right to go to Lyons. The Ginger Bread House and a gas station are at that intersection. Continue on Hwy 22 past Mehama to the next blinking yellow light and turn left onto North Fork Rd. Take the first right onto Pioneer Rd. and when it takes a sharp curve to the left you will be on Taylor Park Road. When the road turns to gravel you are less than a mile away. The River Cottage will be on your left (river side). Enjoy the beautiful drive as you watch out for deer! While the River Cottage is a two bedroom home, we have multiple sleeping options to accommodate guests. We offer a king size bed in the master, a queen sofa sleeper in the great room and a bunk bed with a twin upper and double lower in the guest bedroom. Additionally, stored in the master bedroom closet, there are two twin size air beds (including an electric pump) and a couple sleeping mats that can be used in the loft area. For a small additional charge ($20 a night) there is a hook up available for a small RV or travel trailer for additional guests. In the loft we had kids in mind. There is a TV with a VHS and DVD player and many family and kid friendly DVD's and VHS tapes for them to enjoy. There are games, coloring books and lots and lots of toys. The upstairs master bath has a shower, while the downstairs guest bath has a tub/shower combination. We provide body wash and have some sample sized shampoos, conditioners, tooth paste (and a few tooth brushes) for guests who forgot to pack theirs. There is a washer/dryer unit in the guest bathroom and an ironing board and iron located next to the washer/dryer unit. Laundry soap and dryer sheets are supplied. Entertaining can be fun at the River Cottage. Between the large dinning table and eating bar twelve places can be set for inside meals with family and friends. An outdoor table, chairs and propane BBQ are available on the deck for enjoying meals outside on those warmer days. The location of the River Cottage makes day trips a great option. There are great hiking trails close by with Silver Creek Falls and Opal Creek being popular destinations. Detroit Lake and Breitenbush Hot Springs are both within 40 miles of the River Cottage. Additionally, there are multiple snow parks for winter fun within 60 miles of the River Cottage. Many guests enjoy relaxing at the River Cottage after a day trip to these popular places. There is a wood burning fireplace that burns like a wood stove in the living room. Too cold to swim? No worries, enjoy the six person hot tub located on the covered patio. Both the fireplace and hot tub are guaranteed to keep you warm during Oregon's chilly times. When warm weather hits, you can enjoy the outside deck over looking the river. There is a great swimming hole, but being physically fit is required as there are many steps down to the river and you must climb over some rocks to get to the water! There is a viewing bench half way down the steps, for resting, or just sitting and watching the fun. At all times there is a great view of the Little North Fork River and you can listen to the year round water falls which is located right across the river from the River Cottage. The River Cottage is fully furnished so you only need to bring your personal items and food! Our motto is "If it is here, it is here for you to use". If smaller children are included in your party, close supervision is a must as the Cottage is located on a high bank above the river. Please remember river safety and bring life vests for smaller children and those who are not strong swimmers. Water shoes are strongly recommended as the rocks can be very slippery. Don't want to leave your furry family member at home? No worries, with a small pet deposit, we are doggy friendly!

We have a Custom made Tipi that is 20 feet in diameter with a fire pit and sleeps 6 comfortably May-November. A hot tub that holds the perfect temp always.This is a 3 bedroom house with 1 1/2 bathrooms. 2 queen beds on the upper level and reading room. A large basement area with two queen platform beds, tv/dvd and laundry room. Breitenbush Hot Springs is 40 minutes away, Detroit Lake 30, Silver Creek Falls, Oregon Garden, Shellburg Falls, Opal Creek, Jawbone Flats, Fishermans Bend, Santiam River for amazing fishing, Northfork, Monument Peak and Henline Falls. Many hidden treasures in all directions. Willamette Valley Vinyards is a beautiful short drive. This is a great location far enough but close enough to the city. We do allow pets at an additional fee as long as they are well behaved, not to be left alone when you’re gone and they stay of the couches and beds. Common respect. Hiking on the gravel roads up the mountain is not advised during logging season. However the neighborhood has ample road ways that many enjoy hiking, jogging, and cycling; which is encouraged in order to enjoy the lovely area. Interaction with guests We would love to meet our guests in person and answer any questions that can help make your stay more comfortable. If guests need to arrive at hours we cannot do so, it's quite easy for our guests to enter with our keypad entry at the noted arrival time requested. There is adequate outdoor lighting for late night arrivals. We would love to get a text when you've arrived, and have a plan for a time to meet you when convenient. We'd also appreciate being notified when you are actually closing the door for the ending of your stay. We'll have a house manual with internet access code and other information you'll appreciate having on site for instructions on operating the home. Your hosts live at the next property not five minutes away and are readily available to address any questions or concerns. The homes you share the main driveway with are not your hosts. We are a working farm and they are plenty friendly and used to humans. Maple and Millie are giant, white, fluffy Great Pyrenees dogs. Musket is a friendly shephard mix. Our resident "old mama dog" is named Sandi. She's sand colored, the smallest of the bunch and everyone wants to take her home. If you tell them to shoo, they will :) They also May bark at night. The Little Lavender Acre is in the heart of Oregon's beautiful Willamette Valley. Our working lavender farm is located just outside of the sleepy little town of Sublimity just east of Salem. Nearby destinations: - Downtown Salem (20 minutes) - Silver Creek Falls (25 minutes) - Oregon Garden / Silverton (20 minutes) - Portland (1 hr) - Oregon Coast (1.5 hrs) The surrounding hills include numerous hiking destinations including Opal Creek and Breitenbush Hot Springs. The Willamette Valley is also home to many wineries and craft breweries. Our charming home was the original farmhouse for 200 acres, and it is nearly 100 years old. Much of the lumber used in the fir floors and wood trim throughout the house was milled on these 200 acres. Over the past decade, much love and thoughtful care has been taken as we have continued to restore and update it to create a comfortable home where visitors can relax in the peace that you are sure to find here. Many of the furnishings are vintage pieces that have been acquired locally from the surrounding farms. You will wake up to hear the birds sing from the cedar and walnut trees. Of course, you can also sit on the lawn or gaze out the windows to enjoy views of our lavender field during the summer blooming times. A herd of deer frequently sleep in our back field and come to nibble between the rows of lavender at dusk nearly every evening. In the fall and winter, play games, watch old movies and cook hearty meals as you settle in around the fire or take a soak with a glass of wine in the cast iron bathtub. Our place also serves as a handy launching pad as you tour wineries throughout the region. The Main Floor Several steps leading up into the large deck in front of the home with a covered area for visiting as well as an area that is uncovered if you'd like to enjoy the sunshine. A propane BBQ is provided. There is ample, comfortable seating on the porch, which look out over two of the largest incense cedar trees in the area. Once inside the house, on the main floor, there is an open floor plan with a spacious kitchen, dining room, and living room. There is also a bathroom and the master bedroom, as well as the laundry room. The kitchen has corian countertops with plenty of elbow room for multiple chefs in the kitchen. The kitchen is well stocked with vintage English dishes, cookware, wine glasses, a coffee maker and grinder, several crock pots and casserole dishes, a french press, spices, common pantry essentials and condiments, a hot air popcorn maker, blender, hand-mixer, rolling pin, cutlery, microwave, dishwasher, oven, and a waffle iron. Coffee, tea, hot cocoa mix, butter, and syrup is provided. The living room has an efficient mahogany ceramic pellet stove to maintain the cozy and romantic ambiance during the fall and winter months, several comfortable couches and chairs, and a large TV with an Amazon FireStick to access your online Hulu, Amazon, or Netflix entertainment. The bathroom has a detached powder room with a cast iron deep soaking tub, which is accessible through the master bedroom. Nice linens, quilts and simple toiletries are provided. Hair dryers are provided. There is a laundry room with a new washer, dryer, laundry supplies, and ironing board off the kitchen. Master Bedroom Anointed with a comfortable Tempurpedic queen size four poster bed and matching cherry bedroom set, organic cotton sheets and a lovely 100 year old tufted red velvet rocking chair that is stuffed with horse hair. Master walk-in closet and access to the soaking tub and bathroom. Sun Room Located just off the laundry room, this quaint little porch is the perfect place to have a few minutes of quiet as you relax on vintage comfortable furniture. Overlooking the back property, this is room provides a nice refuge to read, visit, or meditate with a cup of tea in the morning. Second Story Upstairs, there are three large bedrooms and a full bathroom. All of the bedrooms have comfortable (real) mattresses and bedding, night stands, and dressers. Two of the bedrooms each have a queen size bed, and the third bedroom has one twin and one full size memory foam bed. The third bedroom has a porta-crib, games, and children’s books. It also has a smaller TV with an Amazon FireStick. Each bedroom upstairs has a ceiling fan. The large bathroom has a double sink vanity, bathtub, and shower. We have an additional aero bed (full size) that may be available upon request if needed. We do have WiFi, provide simple toiletries and high quality linens, bedding, and laundry supplies. Unfortunately, we cannot allow any pets, smoking, or campfires of any kind inside the home or on the property. Location We are located out in the country, just a five minute drive from the quaint small towns of Sublimity, Stayton, and Aumsville. The Santiam Golf Course and the location for the annual Sublimity Harvest Festival and the Santiam Stampede & Rodeo are a two minute drive away. This is a private setting with a variety of wildlife on the property which is adjacent to the Metolius wilderness and national forest. The Metolius river is about a mile away offering world class fly fishing, Suttle Lake about 15 m. Five other rivers including the Deschutes, McKenzie, Santiam, Brientenbush and Crooked Rivers are all less then an hour away. Hoodoo ski and bike resort is less then 1/2 hour away, Mt. Bachelor 1-1/2 hr. Black Butte ranch for golf and horse back riding is 10 minutes drive. The town of Sisters is about 15 minutes away with outstanding restaurants, shopping and a variety of events through out the year. There are outstanding restaurants including Black Butte and two here in Camp Sherman, a Mexican food restaurant "Hola" and Lake Creek Lodge less the three minute drive or walk if you choose. There is a private entry gate to the property which has two additional homes with the owner's on site to take care of any questions or assistance you may need to help you stay be enjoyable.

Cabin 12 is cozy, private, and quiet. The furnishings and amenities it offers provide everything you need to make the most of your Metolius River vacation. It is the most private of the cabins. French doors facing east and south provide wonderful light any time of year and open onto a wrap around deck. The river is steps away and the resort offers an expansive lawn providing unobstructed access for guests, so grab our lawn chairs and have a picnic or a glass of wine. The cabin features two private bedrooms upstairs. One bedroom has a queen bed and one has a double bed, both have comfortable memory foam mattresses. Each bedroom has a window seat for naps. The cabin bathroom is upstairs and an extra vanity in the hallway ensures no one is left waiting. The main level features a well-equipped kitchen with new appliances and supplies cooks will love. A comfortable leather couch, easy chair and bent wood rocking chair surround the river rock fireplace. To keep you entertained and connected, the cabin has satellite TV, CD and DVD players, and wireless internet. There is an extensive library of books for all ages and plenty of games, puzzles, and arts and crafts supplies to engage the entire family. And, don’t forget the hiking, fishing, skiing…. Upstairs, in the loft bedroom, there is a very comfortable Sherpa couch with a TV with a Nintendo system.  The dining room features a drop leaf table with swivel chairs to relax, read and watch the river along with a large coffee table and leather couch.  Cabin five features all of the space and modern amenities to make your stay comfortable and fun. Enjoy the river view from the spacious loft with two trundle beds (four twin beds in total). The loft’s game table is perfect for your sewing machine or a game of cards.
