Detroit Lake is a reservoir impounded by the Detroit Dam on the North Santiam River. It is located about 46 miles from Salem, Oregon. On the shores of Detroit Lake sits the Detroit Lake State Recreation Area which provides lake-goers with ample recreational activities.

The park provides a playground, boat ramp, picnic tables, restrooms and hot showers, a viewpoint, and even an amphitheater. The campground offers tent campsites along with RV campsites.
